Artisans in Belitung mainly did not grow along with culture and craft tradition. Therefore a limited existing skills occur. The existing skills found such as : Batik Tulis, Batik Cap, and Eco Print are gained self-taught and or training for government 

 

Belitung located only 45 minutes flight from Jakarta. Therefore Belitung become a weekend gateway especially for local tourists (Jakarta). However, material resources for craft production still seldom found.

With the potential of tourism in Belitung. Enhancing the creative industry through product innovation and business strategy is needed.
